Kansas City Steak Company has a rich heritage and deep tradition in Kansas City, but their brand was more recognized outside of its hometown than in it.
And like all companies, they desired new, engaged customers.
Utilizing their current partnership and deep relationship with the Kansas City Royals, we negotiated a personal services agreement with All-Star first baseman, Eric Hosmer.
In its most simple form, we wanted to give customers the chance to eat the tender, delicious Kansas City Steak products with one of the most popular Royals players of all time.
Through a six-week online contest, fans entered to win a chance to have #SteaksWithHos. The lucky winner and ten friends got to enjoy a memorable evening with Hosmer at their home with the steak meal provided by the Kansas City Steak Company.
All of us knew it would be a hit but we underestimated the power of such a simple, well-executed campaign.
With an activation mix of outdoor, radio, digital, content marketing and PR, we put together the most successful Royals.com promotion in their history.
And we hit the two main objectives of growing the brand in KC and obtaining new customers. 19,000 of the 40,000 registrants opted in to offers and messages from Kansas City Steak Company.
And beyond all that, we had a ton of fun, engaged over 600,000 on social media and became the talk of the town.View Video back to success stories
