How do you continue to make your brand relevant in the Kansas City area? That was the objective RE/MAX gave Sponsorship Focus in late 2015 early 2016.

When we dove in further, it wasn’t just about brand relevancy, it was about recruiting new broker owners, engaging current ones and exciting the agents across the region that love representing the RE/MAX brand.

Sports has been a major portion of my background and to me it was real simple: According to Scarborough Research in 2015, 72% of the market has a major fan avidity for the Kansas City Chiefs and 79% for the Kansas City Royals. These are high percentages and per capita one of the best markets in all of sports across the country.

And the Royals had just won the World Series.

And they had the opportunity in the residential real estate category for a new official partner.

Sponsorship Focus worked with The Royals and RE/MAX to build out a comprehensive sponsorship program that targeted the following areas:

  • The ability to use the Royals marks and rights to the phrase “Official Real Estate Partner of the Royals” in RE/MAX marketing efforts
  • Access to Royals personnel for customer broker and agent events including a launch of the partnership in front of 500 brokers and agents that received an amazing ovation
  • Use of the powerful Royals Radio Network for RE/MAX messaging that reached all focal markets in the region
